Bleach 350: Yards away from that milestone

Bleach episode 350 review

“… International dial tone…”

We’ve got lots of reasons for dial tones today, as Chad and Orihime talk on the phone to discuss… something. You see, Orihime got stabbed by the bad guy, yet it didn’t do anything to her. And now she’s defending said bad guy as her friend. Mind control, maybe? But it doesn’t seem like her mind is actually being controlled. It’s all so weird.

Couple that with a plot that is moving at One Piece levels of snail racing, and you’ve got another poor episode of this Fullbring arc. But hey, we hit a milestone, 350 episodes! That just means that we’re going toward the finish line in just a couple of weeks or so.

Bleach 349: The Hotness

Bleach episode 349 review

Ichigo finds a way out of the dollhouse by beating the big plush pig, and yes, that sentence is a true statement. Meanwhile, some guy goes to capture Orihime, but he keeps on getting sucked in by her “hotness.” She’s too “hot” for him to pull off his duties. Luckily for him, another loser shows up and tells Orihime that he’s the reason for Uryu’s hospitalization. So now Orihime is trying to defend the guy who was supposed to capture her. It’s all just so bizarre.

Nevertheless, this was actually a pretty good episode by comparison to many of the others. Why? Well, for one thing Ichigo is no longer acting like “Ich-emo.” Riruka is a tsundere, not a Hiyori, and that’s great news. There’s some humor with the guy who was in the plush pig suit. And Orihime is as cute as ever. It was probably the best episode of this arc to date.

Bleach 348: Puttin’ on the Ritz

Bleach episode 348 review

“Dressed up like a million-dollar Troopa, trying hard to look like Gary Koopa…”

Ichigo decides that yes, he wants his Soul Reaper powers back. So, how else to get them but by getting shrunk and thrown in a dollhouse with a giant plush pig that he has to fight off? This wasn’t going to be easy, but Ichigo is going to somehow awaken his Fullbring powers by finding his way out of this dollhouse.

Oh, and Chad talks more in this episode than he did the first 347 episodes combined. It was so weird hearing his voice for that amount of time. Apparently he can talk, he just needs the right script to be given to him to speak. And speak he did.

Bleach 347: Peak Ich-emo

Bleach episode 347 review

Ichigo is still sulking around being all emo. This is getting ridiculous at this point. He’s completely lost the plot. He’s supposed to be the hero of this series, but now he’s walking around like Eeyore. Meanwhile, all the Fullbringers wait for him to show up, but he won’t. He’d rather just walk around in a fog of nostalgia, or maybe just a fog of flatulence. This new Ichigo (Ich-emo) is so annoying that it’s starting to ruin Bleach.

Now, there’s also the threat of Riruka, who has proven herself NOT to be another Hiyori (thankfully!). She’s actually a tsundere with a crush on Ich-emo. So, that’s a great development, that we don’t have to suffer through another Hiyori character with no redeeming features. But why would she be in love with Ich-emo? Probably because Orihime isn’t into this new Ichigo and is actually into the REAL Ichigo. Who would be nice to show up any minute now, thank you very much.
