Bleach 212: The Grand Escape

Bleach episode 212 review

Urahara gets framed for Aizen’s crime. The “framing” comes from Aizen’s shikai. It’s so broken that whatever his bankai is will be a huge disappointment. At the last second, before being shipped off to prison, Yoruichi steps in and SAVES Urahara and Tessai, and unfortunately all of the Visoreds as well. They get out of Dodge and now are on their way to the world of the living.

And how about the Visoreds? Yes, they had all this bad stuff happen to them where they were Hollowfied by Aizen, but guess what? At the end of the episode in present time, they all prepare for revenge. Which is insane, because it means that they’ve been waiting nearly a century to get revenge! Again, Aizen’s shikai is broken and that means that, like the Force in Star Wars, we just kind of have to accept things that don’t make any sense. But to me, they seem like plot holes, and because of that, I feel cheated by this whole arc.
