Bleach episode 186 review

Old Man Yama finally comes to his senses and sends everyone after the Kasumioji clan, and Ichigo and Shu make their way through the palace to find Rurichiyo. Kumoi threatens Rurichiyo’s life, but as Ichigo and pals confront him. That’s when, out of nowhere, Captain Amagai appears. And he goes and slices Kumoi, proving that he was the villain all along.
However, unlike that of Aizen, Amagai’s betrayal really comes out of nowhere. At least with Aizen, there were some signs that he was up to no good. At least you could understand when his betrayal happened that he had planned it all along. Amagai never did a single thing that would have made you think that he was evil. It’s almost as if they said, okay, we’re out of time in this arc, so we’d better kill off the 3rd Captain before we go back to canon. Although Amagai hasn’t been killed off… yet.
Next time… Old Man Yama faces Amagai. This ought to be interesting.
