Bleach 333: Play lottery, feel good

Bleach episode 333 review

A great improvement off the last few episodes. It’s Old Man Yama vs. Kageroza himself. Ichigo kind of sort of gets involved, but it’s mostly Yamamoto taking on the enemy, and having a pretty epic fiery battle. Nozomi tries to sacrifice herself because she needs to be useful in some fashion, but mostly it’s the old man vs. the enemy.

Rukia gets some screen time, too, which means that her magic # shrinks in double time. But overall, even though this episode was better than many of the recent ones, I’m still counting down the episodes until we’re out of this arc.

Bleach 332: This is getting really aggravating

Bleach episode 332 review

How am I going to get to the finish line of this Bleach-in-a-year experiment? These episodes are getting worse and worse by the day. You see, here’s the problem with having Soul Reapers fight copies of themselves. You begin to lose track who’s on what side. Byakuya’s evil, but Omaeda is good, but Kenpachi is evil, but Yumichika is good… it all blurs together. This is not the best way to do story-telling, and you know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

At least this episode provided just a tad bit of Rukia love, which enables me to skip picking Nozomi by default and getting Rukia closer to clinching the title. We have reached the point where only four girls remain in the hunt for the top spot, but truthfully, this thing is over; Rukia’s got this.

Bleach 331: Feast Week

Bleach episode 331 review

This was another boring episode. Just pretty much Kageroza bragging about all the plans he’s making and Nozomi training to become a fighter. There really is no reason to like Nozomi; she’s annoying, if anything. Why Ichigo & pals are moving heaven and earth to try to save her is beyond me. She doesn’t really even want their help all that much.

Again, we’re limping home to the end of this arc. Very much like the Rurichiyo arc, I have to say. This is probably the worst of the filler arcs, and that’s saying a lot.

Bleach 330: And best wishes from the Lottery

Bleach episode 330 review

Nozomi is the first modsoul, so she feels bad about what she’s brought on Ichigo & pals. In the meantime, Ichigo & pals let Nozomi live in his house. But of course while everyone else is partying, Nozomi sneaks off and gets herself into trouble. That trouble ends with Nozomi gaining a Zanpakuto out of thin air to protect Kon from getting killed. And everyone lived happily ever after.

Well, I wish that last sentence was true, because this arc will continue on. Nozomi was at least bearable in this episode, whereas most times in the past she was super annoying. Not a terrible episode by any means, and it seems as if Nozomi is actually growing on me a bit.
