Bleach 352: A reverse on Riruka

Bleach episode 352 review

My previous bad comments on Riruka were misguided. I now find her kind of cute. She’s not a Hiyori, she’s a tsundere, and there’s a big difference. I couldn’t help but be sucked in by her moe charms in this episode. She now resembles a Sister Princess sister more than she does a Hiyori.

But back to the episode at hand. Jackie is fighting Ichigo in the “Birdcage,” and the messier her boots become, the stronger she becomes. What does that mean? Well, of course, her boots just get messier and messier, while Ichigo becomes stronger and stronger. The result is the entire “Birdcage” exploding.

Oh, and the villain shows up at Fullbring HQ. Now we find out if that code was worth the price we paid.

Bleach 351: Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff

Bleach episode 351 review

In this episode, Ichigo fights a pig and a chicken at the same time as part of his training. I am not making this up. The only thing this fight can do is make me hungry. Do I want bacon, or nuggets? Ham, or wings? Man, you’ve got to keep me away from these food fights!

Then Ichigo has to face a Fullbringer named Jackie Tristan. A character with a bad attitude and a checkered past, Jackie poises a new challenge to Ichigo in his training. Meanwhile, Chad is in danger, and Ichigo is stuck in a birdcage trying to awaken his powers. He’s going to be fried by end of this exercise… or maybe sizzled.

Bleach 350: Yards away from that milestone

Bleach episode 350 review

“… International dial tone…”

We’ve got lots of reasons for dial tones today, as Chad and Orihime talk on the phone to discuss… something. You see, Orihime got stabbed by the bad guy, yet it didn’t do anything to her. And now she’s defending said bad guy as her friend. Mind control, maybe? But it doesn’t seem like her mind is actually being controlled. It’s all so weird.

Couple that with a plot that is moving at One Piece levels of snail racing, and you’ve got another poor episode of this Fullbring arc. But hey, we hit a milestone, 350 episodes! That just means that we’re going toward the finish line in just a couple of weeks or so.

Bleach 349: The Hotness

Bleach episode 349 review

Ichigo finds a way out of the dollhouse by beating the big plush pig, and yes, that sentence is a true statement. Meanwhile, some guy goes to capture Orihime, but he keeps on getting sucked in by her “hotness.” She’s too “hot” for him to pull off his duties. Luckily for him, another loser shows up and tells Orihime that he’s the reason for Uryu’s hospitalization. So now Orihime is trying to defend the guy who was supposed to capture her. It’s all just so bizarre.

Nevertheless, this was actually a pretty good episode by comparison to many of the others. Why? Well, for one thing Ichigo is no longer acting like “Ich-emo.” Riruka is a tsundere, not a Hiyori, and that’s great news. There’s some humor with the guy who was in the plush pig suit. And Orihime is as cute as ever. It was probably the best episode of this arc to date.
