Bleach 336: It’s a lot, it’s a lot

Bleach episode 336 review

“We call it… pastor and servant. Let’s play… pastor and servant.”

Basically, Ichigo is going to get his powers back, just in time to fight Kageroza, who is using fake Nanao and fake Nemu to help him with his computer work. Ichigo and pals have to go to the research and development place to do… something, and now it’s going to be the fake Captains against the real Captains one last time.

A rather dull episode, but what’s stopping that at this point? It’s all blurring into each other now.

Bleach 335: The Cleaner

Bleach episode 335 review

So, Ichigo has lost all his Soul Reaper powers, and now he’s going to be all emo about it. Except that Kisuke offers him a chance to get them back, and it all involves “The Cleaner.” This Cleaner thing is extremely dangerous, but since there’s a nonzero chance that Ichigo gets his powers back, he’s going to enter it. So you’re telling me there’s a chance…

Meanwhile, Old Man Yama is out of commission, Kageroza closes in on his plan to control Nozomi, Kon feels completely helpless, and Rukia, Renji, Uryu, Orihime, and Chad sit around and make conversation. And despite my rather sarcastic tone, this episode was actually a big improvement off the last few.

Bleach 334: Stockholm Syndrome

Bleach episode 334 review

So, Kageroza wants Nozomi to join him, and Nozomi just starts going along with him. Like, what? Why, after Ichigo & pals have been defending you for no good reason, are you just going to throw away all your protection because your enemy tells you to? This arc has gone off the rails. And yes, Nozomi eventually does fight back. But by the time she does, Kageroza has gained in power.

And then we’ve got Old Man Yama showing up to the party. The funny thing about Yamamoto is that we never saw his Bankai until it got beat easily by Yuwabara. So we don’t ever get to see him play at full strength. Ugh, I am so sick of this arc.

Bleach 333: Play lottery, feel good

Bleach episode 333 review

A great improvement off the last few episodes. It’s Old Man Yama vs. Kageroza himself. Ichigo kind of sort of gets involved, but it’s mostly Yamamoto taking on the enemy, and having a pretty epic fiery battle. Nozomi tries to sacrifice herself because she needs to be useful in some fashion, but mostly it’s the old man vs. the enemy.

Rukia gets some screen time, too, which means that her magic # shrinks in double time. But overall, even though this episode was better than many of the recent ones, I’m still counting down the episodes until we’re out of this arc.
