Bleach episode 164 review

Just realized that I watched this episode, but completely forgot to write the review for it. So I’ll try to keep things brief. Uryu and Renji work together to bring down Szayelaporro, only for the villain to survive and advance, or escape. Meanwhile, Grimmjow forces Orihime to heal Ichigo for the sole purpose of fighting him… explain how this makes any sense to me. It’s not like he and Ichigo are pals like Kenpachi sort of is. They’re enemies. There’s no reason for Grimmjow to just fight Ichigo just for the heck of it.

Moreover, he and Ulquiorra now are at odds, because Grimmjow has undone everything Ulquiorra has done. I suppose this was a way of getting Ichigo healed, but come on. This makes no sense. What a weird episode.

Bleach episode 163 review

Loly goes on the rampage in this episode, tormenting Orihime until Grimmjow shows up just for kicks. He says he’s paying back Orihime for giving back his arm. So he goes and one-shots both Loly and Menoly and presumably kills Menoly. But then Orihime goes and heals the both of them! It’s such a touching moment, where Orihime heals Loly against her will. Her love knows no bounds, while Loly’s anger and jealousy knows no bounds as well. You’ve gotta love Loly, she’s such an awesome anti-villain. Somehow she ends up on “the good side,” as proven in TYBW, despite the behavior she shows in these episodes.

Oh, and are Renji and Uryu fighting Szayelapporo or however you spell his name? Who cares! This theater in Orihime’s room is too good to look away from. It’s kind of like how Picard is being tortured by Gul Madred and there’s another storyline going on, yet no one pays attention to it. Everyone wants to see how Picard is going to overcome the torture. And he does, although he does see five lights.

Again, another great episode, but unfortunately Loly won’t be on screen forever.

Bleach episode 162 review

Loly Aivirrne arrives at the scene, and quite frankly, that’s all that matters. Why do I love Loly so much? I honestly have no idea. She became a legend in my fanfiction later, but why I started liking her I truly have no clue. She comes in to torture Orihime, which you might think would make me hate her. Nope! I love how Loly has such a crush on Aizen that she keeps on bringing up Aizen’s name and telling of her jealousy of Orihime.

And what makes this so great is what we say in TYBW. If you’ll recall, Loly and Menoly got injured in a battle against a Quincy, and Orihime healed them. That’s such an awesome moment that almost no one pays attention to. Orihime is such a loving person that she’d heal the girls who tortured her and beat her up – in particular Loly, the ringleader of the two.

Also, we get Ichigo battling Ulquiorra with some annoying Nel scenes, and we get Uryu SAVING Renji in his battle against Szayelaporro (forgive me if I spelled it wrong). Altogether, an awesome episode if not for the whining by Nel.

Bleach episode 161 review

I hate the fact that I’m getting these out later and later, so I’ll try to do better the next time. Anyway, Renji fights Szayelaporro (not sure how to spell his name), and his opponent won’t let him use his Bankai. I guess this is a foreshadowing of what is to come in TYBW. Anyway, the two of them battle for a while, and obviously neither is going all out.

Meanwhile, Ichigo is confronted by Ulquiorra. Ichigo says to him, you haven’t done anything to my friends, then Ulquiorra counters with, what if I told you that I kidnapped Orihime? Ichigo goes ballistic, which I would take as another proof of IchiHime. Now we’ve got Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra… but next episode is going to have a certain character (and her friend) whom I’m a big fan of.

Best girl of the episode: Lilynette (1) (she had some screen time with Starrk as those two got formally introduced to the series)
