Kaiju No. 8 ep. 6: Weak point for massive damage

Kaiji No. 8 episode 6 review

So, “Sir” and pals are off on their first real mission. They are put at the end as the last line of defense, so of course this means that they’ll be the most important crew of all. (Who puts their worst crew as the last line of defense anyway, even in real life?) “Sir” has to poop or something and then the real battle begins.

“Sir” decides that he’s going to check out one of the beaten Kaiju to see if he can find the weak point. He then relays that info to Gin Ichimaru so that his team can attack that weak point for massive damage. Meanwhile, there’s fighting. You literally could have inserted scenes from Neon Genesis Evangelion or even Bleach and I wouldn’t have noticed the difference. It was just fight, fight, fight, with explosions and people screaming.

If I sound bored with the episode, I apologize, because there really wasn’t much bad about it. It just didn’t catch my attention. Though, I watched an episode of Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid right after it and it had me on the edge of my seat. It’s not like I want to dislike the show. It’s just that it doesn’t give me much to be excited about.

Kaiju No. 8 ep 5: Oops

Kaiju No. 8 episode 5 review

Wow, I totally forgot to write a review for this past episode. Basically, we get to see “Sir” make a fool of himself, but hey, he made the cut, and that’s what matters, right? Mina makes him do 100 push-ups or something. Who is going to be Sir’s love interest, Mina, Shinomiya, or the guy who keeps calling him “Sir” all the time? My bet is on the latter. Anyway, fine episode, just forgot to write about it.

Konosuba S3 Ep 6: Kicked out of bars

Konosuba season 3 episode 6 review

The party’s over! Kazuma and pals are on their way out of the castle after all the tomfoolery that had gone on over the last few episodes. But first! (as Julie Chen-Moonves would say) Kazuma decides to help the thief girl steal something, and of course it blows up in his face. Unfortunately, the focus on the thief girl instead of one of our main three girls means disappointment in the funny department.

There was one humorous scene with Darkness all tied up and enjoying it, but for the most part she and Aqua were MIA in this episode. There was also this really stupid long goodbye from that other Princess Iris, a character I have grown to hate. Since I came around on Megumin, it’s Iris who I can’t stand anymore. She isn’t funny, nor is she a cool character. She just fawns over Kazuma, and not to humorous effect, either. Kazuma likes her calling him “Elder Brother,” which must make him the brother from Sister Princess. I know way too much about that series.

Anyway, a disappointing episode this week in the Konosuba department.

Tonbo! Ep 5: Taking a drop

Tonbo! episode 5 review

Well, the time has come. Tonbo! failed to impress me through five episodes, and as a result, I am dropping this show. Really, not much happened in this episode. Igaiga taught Tonbo a few things, then they both jumped into the water, and then there was some more talking, and… really not much of any real consequence happened. Couple that with the poor voice acting and the fact that I’m not a slice-of-life guy… it’s time to drop it. Sorry, Tonbo!, hopefully you get better in the episodes to come, which I won’t be watching.

Best girl of the episode: Tonbo, of course
