Bleach episode 150 review

Loly and Menoly. You gotta love ’em, and you can’t kill ’em. I have been a Loly Aivirrne fan since she graced my screen in this very episode. Menoly Mallia? Nothing special about her. But Loly has this absolutely adorable crush on Aizen, which can be seen above with her blushing when being angry about Orihime getting time with Aizen. It’s too bad there isn’t a spinoff of Bleach which features Loly’s adventures post-Aizen and post-TYBW. (Maybe she risks it all to try to save Aizen?)

In any case, Ichigo & pals have reached Las Noches, though Nel’s crying and whining were enough to make me reach for the mute button. She’s become so annoying that I kind of sort of maybe almost perhaps possibly would like her to go away.

Oh, and Ulquiorra gets some screen time, showing exactly zero interest in Orihime yet again. I’m telling you, UlquiHime fans, this ain’t happening. There never was or has been anything between her and him. I say that you can write whatever you want in fanfiction. Just don’t ship Ulquiorra and Orihime. It’s disgusting.

Bleach episode 149 review

If you’re a IchiRuki, you may be getting excited by the title of this post. But sorry, no, I don’t consider Ichigo a redhead, just a strawberry blonde. I’m talking actual red, as in Renji’s hair color, and Ashido’s as well. If you want to call Orihime a redhead, that’s fine, because I actually once shipped RukiHime.

Anyway, back to the episode. Ashido didn’t die; he survived. And now he helps Rukia win the battle with the Hollows and get back to her friends. Ichigo & pals manage to save Nel & pals, and now everyone’s back together. Ashido chooses not to go with them, which probably means curtains for him. But if that’s not the case, Rukia promises that she’ll come back for him someday. Hello?

Some random Soul Reaper in Hueco Mundo, and you’re going to come back for him someday? For real? That’s bizarre. The only explanation I’ve got is that Rukia has a thing for him. Love at first sight, seriously. Renji, you’ve got some ground to make up here!

Bleach episode 148 review

Rukia meets a Soul Reaper in the midst of Hueco Mundo named Ashido. The guy’s been hanging out here for hundreds of years, thinking that he’s actually been putting a dent in the number of Hollows making it to the world of the living. Instead, Rukia tells him, he’s a miserable failure. No, not like that, but he is, regardless of how she says it.

So the two of them are just fighting Hollow after Hollow, while Ichigo & pals are running from poison gas, or in this case, more Hollows. Also, a bunch of Hollows capture Nel & pals and threaten to eat them. Nel tries to get away by stating that she was created by Aizen; the Hollows tell her all that gets her is a cup of tea at Las Noches. (Cue Nel & pals with the title of the post.)

At the very end, it looks like Ashido might be dead; at the very least, he got wiped out by a Hollow. So, Rukia will have to mourn him if he is dead, and then figure out how to escape without his help. Or, maybe he’ll survive. Truth be told, I don’t even remember. I do know one thing: Rukia is padding her lead on Orihime.

Bleach episode 147 review

A rather dull episode despite a lot of action. Ichigo & pals get flung to the forest floor, where now they’ve got to find a way back up. Rukia goes missing and gets attacked by a mysterious Soul Reaper. And Nel & pals make a whole lot of noise.

This is one of those “small fries” episodes. The characters Ichigo & pals are fighting against are “small fries.” We aren’t anywhere close to the enemies that matter. So, these battles feel pointless, because you just know that Ichigo (if he wanted to) could take these guys out with one swift stroke. Rukia? Maybe not. But it just feels like a waste of time.
