Bleach 211: That tricky Aizen!

Bleach episode 211 review

So it was Aizen behind all those mysterious deaths all along! Pretty slick if you ask me. Now he’s turned all the Visoreds into Hollows. We’re left with one episode to swing this pendulum. I wish it would end with the death of all the Visoreds so that they never show up again. Pretty sure it’s not gonna go that way, but I can hope.

What I don’t understand is how Aizen got away with this a hundred years ago and the Visoreds didn’t do anything about it. Maybe that’s explained in the next episode. It better be. If not, I’m going to flip out. Okay, maybe not, but you’ll see a low number below if that’s the case.

Bleach 210: Old Man Yama’s at it again

Bleach episode 210 review

There’s a big problem in the Soul Society, and once again, Old Man Yamamoto makes the wrong decision. Oh, wait, this is in the past. So now it’s established that Yamamoto has been making stupid choices from a century ago. Is this something we were supposed to catch as viewers? Or is this something that I just happen to be noticing now that TYBW is out?

In any case, Yamamoto’s decision here is to send certain Captains out to a battle which is extremely dangerous. Guess who he picks? All of the Visoreds. So this is probably why they all went to the world of the living (TM). And I’m glad about it, because if I see or hear that Hiyori one more time, I’m gonna flip.

It’s a bad decision because he’s gone off and got them all “killed” (not really). Had he approached this situation with a level head, he wouldn’t have sent all these heavy hitters (at the time) out into a battle he couldn’t win. But as we’ve seen over the years, Old Man Yama is a pretty stupid guy. Everything he does backfires on him. In other words, he’s the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Best girl of the episode: Lisa (2) (the Visored who I hate the least)

Bleach 209: The Visoreds are the worst

Bleach episode 209 review

Hiyori is bad enough. When you’ve got green-haired Visored trying to out-Hiyori Hiyori, you’re in deep, deep trouble. This episode was nearly as bad as the one a couple episodes ago when Hiyori stunk up the joint. Yes, there’s a plot in here somewhere, but it gets drowned out by all the yelling and screaming and whining and complaining by Hiyori and green-haired Visored.

I was so desperate for a “best girl” for this episode that I had to choose Rangiku, who showed up in the post-credits scene for a brief joke.

Best girl of the episode: Rangiku (25)

Bleach 208: Like a Rolling Stone

Bleach episode 208 review

Guess what? Hiyori is still annoying as heck. But I didn’t feel like making this review all about her. Instead, let’s see what happens when Kisuke Urahara brings her to visit a prisoner. His name? Mayuri Kurotsuchi.

Why Mayuri was “redeemed” in Bleach is beyond me. The guy is as low as it gets when it comes to morals. Apparently it was Kisuke who gave him his big chance at being set free. Okay, I get it, but why? Why did Kisuke even consider this? Is Kisuke really the biggest villain, or the dumbest person? All these questions need to be answered or this “Turn Back the Pendulum” arc will prove to be just a waste of time.

Best girl of the episode: Yoruichi (13) (barely beating out Soi Fon)

Episode rating: 6/10
