Bleach 278: Acting out of character

Bleach episode 278 review

There is a point in this episode when Starrk literally tells Shunsui that he’s “acting out of character.” That’s because Shunsui is using too much effort in fighting Starrk. Meanwhile, Jushiro keeps on reversing Starrk’s gun blasts back at him, but when Wanderweiss shows up, Jushiro provides us with the episode’s only “WHAT.” Wanderweiss apparently did… something, because now Aizen, Gin, and Tosen are now about to get ready for action.

With the reinforcements showing up for Aizen, it looks like curtains for the Soul Reapers, when suddenly, out of nowhere, all the Visoreds show up. Then we get a flashback from the Pendulum arc that tells how Aizen screwed all the Visoreds in the first place. Apparently, they want some revenge. It is my sincere hope that not a one of them gets a pound of Aizen’s flesh; I will root for Aizen over the Visoreds.

Bleach 277: La Cheeserie!

Bleach episode 277 review

Shunsui and Starrk are so lazy (how lazy are they?), they are so lazy that they take almost the entire episode just getting ready to start to begin the start of the beginning of their fight’s opening stages. Lilynette gets shoved inside a gun, which is a rather rude way of forcing the best girl of the day into a position where she can’t even be seen. When are they going to actually fight, though?

Eventually, at the end of the episode, Shunsui finally decides to go Bankai, only to have Ukitake show up and want to do the same thing. Could we get a 2-on-1 battle here? Let’s not get carried away here, but this very well may end up being a good fight after all.

Bleach 276: A Starrk contrast

Bleach episode 276 review

The lazy Shunsui fights the lazy Starrk, while the jolly Ukitake fights the playful Lilynette. All the while, Omaeda gets to play the role of star of the episode while Soi Fon recovers from losing her arm. News flash: Omaeda isn’t exactly the most endearing hero and quite a bit annoying. He buys time until Soi Fon is able to use her Bankai, which is essentially a missile, on her remaining arm.

Overall, an annoying episode because Omaeda whines the whole time. Without Soi Fon in the picture for much of the contest, all we get to hear is Omaeda’s cries. If I were Soi Fon, I’d hate the guy too. But hey! No “WHAT”s this episode, at least from what I remember.

Bleach 275: It’s all fun and games until someone loses an arm

Bleach episode 275 review

Soi Fon battles Barragan, while Omaeda whines and cries. Barragan reveals his ability to make anything he touches die, which just so happens to be the same ability Donald Trump has. Thus, Soi Fon has her arm wither away, and the only way for Omaeda to save her life is for him to cut off her arm. So now we’re down to just one arm for Soi Fon and a whiny coward in Omaeda.

Toshiro kind of sort of maybe beats Harribel? It wasn’t exactly clear. This after he revealed his ability to take all the water in the sky and use it for his purposes. There were two “WHAT”s in this episode, one by Soi Fon herself. You’d think Omaeda would have had one, but he managed to get through the episode without one. I wish I had started “WHAT” counting earlier.
