Toonami Roundup: 11/10/18

This week on… Toonami…

My Hero Academia episode 26: In this episode, everyone picks a hero name. And it’s absolutely hilarious. Bakugo comes up with a too-offensive name, we get names such as Froppy, and Deku is dull enough to just use “Deku” as his name. Midnight is a great character, but shouldn’t this show be rated NC-17 with the way her breasts bounce around? I love that My Hero Academia didn’t give us a bridge episode and instead jumped right into the next arc. Oh, and now Deku’s training with some crazy guy? This is going to be so much fun. Episode rating (out of four stars): ***1/2

Boruto episode 7: An invisible man… sleeping in your bed… who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! Rating: *1/2

Mob Psycho 100 episode 3: The LOL cult attacks! The goal is to make Mob laugh. Of course, Mob doesn’t. Then he goes nuts and attacks back! While this episode was funny, it also leaves me wondering what the point of this show is. It felt like an episode of Samurai Champloo. Rating: **1/2

Attack on Titan episode 49: We’re taking Wall Maria! But before we do, we have to kidnap Potato Girl and have a fight with Eren. Quite obviously, nothing of note happens before the end of this episode, as that’s saved for the next arc which looks like it may actually be worth watching. Then they have this crazy moment during the credits where it looks like your stream got screwed up, but it’s actually showing something in the future where Levi wants to kill Eren. Man, do I hope Levi gets eaten by a Titan this next arc. Rating: **1/2

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable episode 12 review: Joseph Joestar is officially senile. This revelation is the best part of this episode. Forget the battle with Chili Pepper, it was just great to watch Joseph completely lose his marbles. Usually we don’t get to be around main characters when they’re in their 70s. This could be hilarious – actually, it already is. Rating: ***

Hunter x Hunter episode 119: We save the best for last. Ikalgo and the lobster ant have a showdown, with the lobster ant figuring out how to escape everything, while Ikalgo keeps on strategizing and figuring out new ways to trap him. But then, when Ikalgo’s finally won his war with the lobster, he can’t bring himself to kill him! I told you the elevator part was the best part of this arc. Sometimes mental battles can be more exciting to watch than physical battles. Unfortunately, that means that the rest of this arc doesn’t get any better than this battle we had between Ikalgo and the lobster ant. Rating: ***1/2

Best show of the week: Hunter x Hunter

Worst show of the week: Boruto (actually Naruto: Shippuden, but I’m not reviewing that)

Best character of the week: Tie between Ikalgo and the senile Joseph Joestar

Worst character of the week: Eren Jaeger
