Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders episodes 45-46 review
The Jojo gang finally meets Dio, and we learn quickly that he has an overpowered Stand. This Stand allows him to do such things as make Polnareff be back down at the bottom of the stairs after he had already climbed them. It seems innocuous enough, but soon the Jojo gang learns how tough it really is.
Kakyoin gets killed, which doesn’t affect me one bit. Why not? Because besides Avdol, Kakyoin was the most expendable member of the crew. Polnareff is inexpendable, same with Joseph, and Jotaro’s technically the main character so he can’t die either. So I wasn’t crying any tears when Kakyoin died, but I will admit it was a cool battle.
Kakyoin uses his last bit of life to destroy a clock tower with the time 5:15. This allows Joseph to figure out that Dio’s ability is to stop time; however, what Joseph should have been thinking about is that 5:15 is one of The Who’s best songs. But now it looks like Joseph is about to be killed by Dio too. If he does die, it will prove my prediction correct, as I have said since before Egypt that he won’t make it back alive.
The first of these two episodes wasn’t anything special, but the second one was fantastic and showed exactly what Jojo is made of.
