HxH 99: China’s under martial law

Hunter x Hunter episode 99 review

HxH 99

These rock-and-roller selection wars, I can’t take them anymore. Or at least, I can’t understand them. Something feels off. I feel like I missed 5 episodes or so. Which is surprising because I already watched the whole series. It seems that Pitou has gotten hardly any character development, which is strange because I thought she was really well fleshed out. Killua and Knuckle and Shoot are all talking strategies and sub-strategies, about a war plan that I don’t ever remember being set. And wasn’t Diego dead? Or is that his double? I’m so confused right now.

There is one bright spot. The best character in all of Hunter x Hunter, aside from perhaps Kurapika and Leorio, appeared in the end credits. If you missed them, you need to go back and watch them. She literally saves Hunter x Hunter from the depths of mediocrity that this arc will reach. If not for her, I’d hate Hunter x Hunter right now. But she rescues the series. I know that sounds extreme, but trust me, it’s true.
