Azumanga Daioh episodes 24-26 review
Tomo may be the best character in this series, but I really felt for Yomi in the final three episodes of Azumanga Daioh. She was constantly being made fun of, while feeling super conscious about her weight (which Tomo always pointed out was larger than she’d like it to be), and then ends up flunking her entrance exams. This is exactly me. I was constantly bullied during high school, I weigh way too much (pun intended), and despite all my high school smarts, I flunked classes in college. Yomi made Azumanga Daioh more of a drama than a comedy at the end here, as I was too busy feeling bad for her to laugh.
Overall, Azumanga Daioh beats Lucky Star when it comes to humor, and probably is the best straight-humor series I’ve seen (barely beating out Baka & Test, although it’s hard to compare the two). Ultimately, I give it 8 out of 10, which is outstanding given my extremely strict scoring. You should see it if you haven’t already.
