Eyeshield 21 episodes 29-30 review
Episode 29 has Sena and Monta joining a couple of the Wild Gunmen for a game of beach football. This also turns into the swimsuit episode of Eyeshield 21, as Mamori gets in her bikini and joins them in the game. They win their first two games, before struggling in the final. Fortunately, Hiruma shows up in time and tags out Mamori, providing an unstoppable passing attack. The scoring rules aren’t ever explained, but what is explained is that Sena’s team wins and gets $1,000.
As for Episode 30, we find that there’s a kicker named Musashi who left a long time ago, but promised to help Deimon reached the Christmas Bowl. In the meantime, the team all dresses up like caricatures of American Indians and chases each other. Then Hiruma gives the team a mandate: cross the line and join them on a death march of training, or go back to Japan to the comforts of home. It’s up to you, a life of ease, of reflection and intellectual challenge… or this.
All 7 players choose to join Hiruma and Kurita, which means there are 9 people on the team. Who are the other two people who are magically filling out the roster on game day? You need 11 for a team, and they’ve only got 9. Somehow they keep on playing, so someone’s got to be taking those roster spots. This is a bit of a plot hole. Otherwise, it’s been a great first 30 episodes.
