Sailor Moon Saturday: Eps 81-82

Sailor Moon R episodes 81-82 review

Sailor Moon 82

Episode 81 was the typical tomfoolery of every single Sailor Moon episode to date, so there’s no need to review it. Basically, Chibi-Usa causes a problem, the Sailor Guardians have to solve it, and Tuxedo Mask steps in to save the day. Same as always. That bad, huh?

Episode 82 mixes things up, though. The Sailor Guardians go to Sailor Pluto, because they need to go to the future to save Chibi-Usa’s mom and take care of business there. Sailor Pluto gets only a brief bit of airtime, but it was nice to see her. Then there’s a pretty good battle between Esmeraude and the Sailor Guardians, and now they’re headed to Crystal Tokyo to see the dystopian future waiting for them. A nice setup for next episode.

Episode 81 rating (out of four stars): *1/2

Episode 82 rating (out of four stars): ***

Toonami Roundup: 6/17/17

This… week… in… Toonami…

Dragon Ball Super episode 22: This is quite obviously the “J.J. Abrams arc” of Dragon Ball Super. All nostalgia-driven, not actually plot-driven. Like most J.J. Abrams works, it sucks. Rating: *1/2

Dragon Ball Z Kai episode 121: When are we going to get around to that Goku vs. Vegeta fight again? Because they were supposed to go at it in this episode, then everyone kind of got preoccupied with yelling and screaming, and now it’s put off yet another week. Rating: **

Attack on Titan episode 33: More flashbacks, more Mikasa being Mikasa. If not for Hange getting off the mat, this might have been a total waste of an episode. Rating: **

Tokyo Ghoul episode 11: Am I still obligated to review this crap? Oh, okay. One more episode. Then I’m off the hook. Rating: *

Hunter x Hunter episode 55: Something big’s going to happen. It doesn’t happen yet here in this episode, though, so it’s a bit boring. But trust me when I tell you this is going to be hair-raising, high-tension stuff. Rating: **1/2

Lupin III Part IV episode 1: Thanks for just throwing me in a pool of lava without a raft! I have no idea who any of these characters are, yet I’m supposed to be able to understand why they act the way they do. This isn’t fair! Rating: **

Naruto Shippuden episode 161: The entire Leaf Village has been destroyed. Like, every single bit of it. All those people Sakura was trying to heal are presumably dead. And every building is gone. How is this okay? This is like a city just being wiped off the map. It’s not something we should brush off and say, “Well, Naruto’ll get him!” It should be a more solemn moment than this. Rating: **

Ghost in the Shell episode 16: A highly convoluted political plot, one that I checked out of early. Rating: *1/2

Best show of the week: Hunter x Hunter

Most surprisingly good show of the week: Dragon Ball Z Kai

Most disappointing show of the week: All of them. But for posterity’s sake, I’ll go with Attack on Titan.
