Black Butler episodes 5-6 review
So all this time I was thinking Madam Red from Black Butler was an important character. As it turns out, she turns out to be a villain who gets killed in episode 5 and buried in episode 6. There goes all my preconceived notions about Black Butler. So Grell’s the real villain? And he’s a grim reaper? Keep him away from my TV shows, I don’t want any more of them cancelled!
Both of these episodes suffered from having poor lighting. Both had a lot of scenes occurring in the dark, and as a result, it was hard to make out which character was which on my cathode ray tube television. (I know, I know, I should switch to Blu-ray already.) But both were quite solid, albeit not nearly as funny as the earlier ones. And that’s okay. I don’ t always need to laugh. So far so good for Black Butler, but at the same time it hasn’t completely blown me away. It’s steady, and for that much, I’m thankful.
Oh, you want me to tell you what happened? Well, that’s classified. It’s all spoilery stuff. I’ll just tell you that Madam Red (Ciel, the main character, has her as an aunt) dies, and Grell (her butler) turns out to be a grim reaper, so he fights Sebastian, the aforementioned Black Butler. And there you have it, two episodes of fun. Hopefully there’s more fun to come.
