Black Butler episodes 3-4 review
When cosplayers go for a ballgown, what do they go for? Of course, it’s Lady Ciel’s ballgown. That’s the most common ballgown I’ve seen at cons. So yes, the most iconic ballgown in all of cosplay is worn by… a boy.
In episode 3, tomfoolery occurs and not much happens. (Those words/phrases will be in bold on this blog from now on.) But in episode 4, Ciel and Sebastian have to solve the mystery of Jack the Ripper. How do they have to come across him? By disguising themselves, including Ciel wearing the famous dress. What makes this episode great is that they do all the trouble of catching the guy, and then the day afterward they open up the newspaper to see “Jack the Ripper Strikes Again.” Meaning, they caught the wrong guy. It’s a hilarious moment but also a great plot twist.
The third episode introduces Elizabeth, a girl who is betrothed to Ciel, and she is over the top in love with him. Ciel doesn’t really care for her, as becomes obvious. In the fourth episode, this becomes even better when Ciel has to avoid Elizabeth at the ball, because Elizabeth would blow up his disguise, and worse, embarrass him for good. Elizabeth is a great character who is sure to make this series even better as it goes along.
