Attack on Titan episode 26 review
Attack on Titan is back and better than ever! … Sort of. The new season premiered, and many of the same problems from the original are still here. Those problems include focus on characters we don’t care about and are just about to die anyway, as well as the obsession over Captain Levi. Oh, and Eren is still a wuss, but we already knew that.
Basically in this episode, Titans are found inside the wall. This obviously has some sort of consequences, though we won’t find them out quite yet. Hange is still crazy, though in this episode more of an annoying crazy than a lovable crazy. Potato Girl still exists, though she has no potato so she kind of just blends in with the other losers. There’s a short flashback which seems to serve no real purpose.
Then all the Titans end up teaming up to kill one Miche. Miche tries to be the hero, as he’s apparently 2nd-best only to… guess who? Captain Levi. Miche ends up having a Titan talk to him, who wonders about his gear. Miche becomes terrified, and then the Titan tells the rest to just destroy him. This was my favorite part of the episode. Since I hate pretty much every single character on this show (except for Armin and Potato Girl), I love when the Titans eat them.
In any case, it was a better-than-average episode, and at least enough to make me say, “hey, I’m going to go back and watch the first season now.” Congratulations, Attack on Titan, you accomplished your goal.
